Simple, Summer Makeup | Kajal

So here is my first makeup look for the blog! (I certainly took my time…) For today’s post, I decided to go for a simple, summery look:

Summer look (3)

For summer I like to keep things simple (well as simple as possible…) and create a nice glow! You don’t need to use the exact products I have used today – anything similar will do. 🙂

Summer look (8)

I always start with face products. I used my MAC Prep + Prime Highlighter in Peach Lustre to cancel out the blue/purple tones in my under-eyes. I then applied my Collection Lasting Perfection concealer in Dark (No. 4) on top and blended it out using my fingers. I also like to apply a bit of concealer under the arches of my brows, along the bridge of my nose and just above my cupid’s bow.

I then buffed my Urban Decay Naked Foundation in 7.0 into my skin with my Real Techniques Face Brush, and over my concealer (gently though!)

That’s the face done! For my eyes, I applied Mac Mythology (a peachy shade) over my lid. I then worked Mac Antiqued, and Urban Decay’s Darkhorse (from the Naked 1 palette) into the crease. To neaten things up, I ‘cleared’ the area above my crease with Urban Decay’s Naked eyeshadow.

To highlight I applied Urban Decay’s Virgin on my browbone, and Sin in my inner corners. To finish off my eyes I applied Urban Decay’s Ink for Eyes Liquid eyeliner on my lashline, which I then neatened up with an angle brush and some black eyeshadow from Sleek’s Storm palette. I also applied some of the black eyeshadow along my lower lash line. I then used Benefit’s They’re Real mascara to emphasise my lashes. For my brows I just used Urban Decay’s Creep with an angled brush (a bit odd I know, but it works for me!)

Now for that glow! I really recommend the highlighter in the Sleek Face Form Palette in Dark. I highlighted along the bridge of my nose, the tops of my cheeks, above my cupid’s bow and my chin. I then contoured my face using the bronzer in the same palette. To finish off, I mixed Muscovado and Demerara from the Sleek Blush Trio in Sugar for my cheeks, and added a pink lipstick (Sephora’s Secret Affair.)

I hope you like this look! Let me know which of these products you would like to see reviewed next week!
