Hey friends! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. On my last post I was asked what base products I use before applying my makeup so I thought I’d write about it. Do let us know what are your staple products in the comments below and don’t forget to check out Kajal’s post on Simple skincare. 🙂
To begin I always pat a little bit of Bio-Oil on my face usually left over from when I have applied it to other parts of my body. I don’t like to use a lot of this as it is an oil so it can be quite greasy and take a while to sink in. And when I’m in a rush to apply my makeup ain’t nobody got time for that!
Next I like to apply a few pumps of Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Dark Spot Corrector all over my face. This has worked wonders for me over the past few years fading all my teenage acne scars. It claims to also target dark spots, age spots and sun damage but from my personal use I cannot confirm it does those things. It is a really lightweight formula perfect for everyday use. On top of that I like to use a little of Simple’s hydrating light moisturiser. I really am not a fan of moisturisers since the ones I have used in the past were always quite heavy and greasy. My skin definitely feels hydrated after using this but I would prefer something a little moisture packed during these winter months as my skin does become really dry. So if you do have any recommendations please let me know!
Finally if I have any spots come up (which I normally always do) I use one of two products; either Burt’s Bees Targeted Spot Treatment or this Skinclear Ultra Treatment Cream from Boots recommended by Freddie a good number of years ago. I quite like the Skinclear for everyday use if there are the odd spots rising up but if I really want a strong solution I use Burt’s Bees. This liquid smells quite strong and it doesn’t really fade so I suggest only wearing this at night. It definitely reduces a spot size in a couple days if used daily. I have had both for quite a while so both a great value for money.
I hope you enjoyed this quick snapshot into my skincare routine and don’t forget to let us know your favourite products below. Til’ next time, bye! Una x
