Hey friends! I hope you are doing well, I am back with another make-up look this time featuring my model Amy. As promised it features the Smashbox #Shapematters palette that I reviewed last week. Also, I have done another look on Amy a few months ago and you can check that out here. But let’s gets started!
To begin, I applied a thin base of her foundation MAC Face & Body in the colour N10. I then put a layer of Urban Decay primer potion across her eye to ensure the eyeshadow stayed all night long. I then covered the eyelid with the colour Aubergine (bottom centre) using a flat brush which gives the eyelid a really vibrant purple base colour. I then layered on top the colour Candied Violet from the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette to add an extra bit of shimmer. I would definitely recommend combining these two colours for a quirky and different New Year’s look. To blend out the colour and define the eye socket I used Totally Nude (top centre) on a fluffy MAC 217 brush.
I then created a really smoky affect using the aptly name Blackout. I constantly switched between a flat brush and a fluffy brush to apply Blackout (bottom right) because when you blend the colour naturally it loses its intensity. I suggest you keep applying and blending until you have reached your preferred smokiness. I didn’t want the eyes to be overly heavy since I was using such strong colours. Therefore I have not placed any colour underneath the lash line. I highlighted her inner eye corners and brow bone using the highlight colour (large circle centre). To complete the look I tightlined her upper eye with a black eyeliner pencil then finished off with some mascara.
On the face I just used Benefit’s High Beam on the cheek bones, tip of the nose and cupids bow. Then I applied a pink shimmer blush from Sleek. On the lips, I left it au natural with some lip balm.
I hope you enjoyed this purple look and don’t forget to share any dupe recommendations in the comments below. Til’ next bye and Happy New Year!
