Hey friends! Hope you are all well, today’s post will be a smokey, copper look featuring my wonderful model Becki. I have previously done a copper look on myself using a few similar products which you can check out here. I want to show you how universal this look is on both dark, light and olive skin tones like Becki’s. Don’t forget to leave your comments below of products you recommend and use to create your own copper eyes!
To begin, I primed Becki’s eyelid with Urban Decay’s primer potion in Eden. Then I dampened a flat brush to apply Bourjois’ Little Pot Eye Shadow in Maroon Glace (Number 54). I blended that colour using MAC’s 217 brush. In the eye crease I used Totally Nude from Smashbox’s #Shapematters palette to create depth and to further blend out the copper shade. I then mixed Sumatra and Blackout to add depth to the outer corners of the eyes. I used a light touch to ensure I didn’t leave Becki with panda eyes which many are afraid of when creating a smokey look! To really make the eyes pop, I placed the highlighter colour from the same palette on the centre of her eyelid. Finally, I applied that combination of Sumatra and Blackout under the eyelid using the angled brush which comes with the #Shapematters palette. There was some fallout from the black eyeshadow especially so I cleaned up under the eyes using NARS Creamy concealer in Custard. I then applied a thin line of black liquid liner and mascara to finish off the eyes.
For Becki’s face I highlighted on the brow bones, cheek bones and tips of the nose and cupid’s bow using Benefit’s High Beam. I think I have used this colour on every model shown on Tri Makeup and it looks amazing on all! I finished off by contouring and using bronzer again from the #Shapematters palette. If you want to find out how to contour, check out Freddie’s post here! I added a bit of colour back into the cheeks with Sleek’s Shimmer Blush in Rose Gold which looks like a great dupe of NARS’ Orgasm blush. Unfortunately, I don’t have a picture of Becki with her lip colour but I recommended she used a nude lipstick such as No. 7’s lip colour in Bare to ensure the focus on her eyes.
I hope you enjoyed this look and hopefully we will all be showing you more eye looks when our exams are over! Til’ next time, bye! Una x
