Dew the Hoola Liquid Bronzer Review| Una

Hey friends! Hope you are well, today I will be reviewing Benefit’s newest product ‘Dew the Hoola’ which is a soft-matte liquid bronzer. Let me know in the comments below your favourite liquid bronzer products!

As you can see from the picture, I didn’t buy the full sized 30ml version of Dew the Hoola (£22.50) instead my version was a 5ml freebie from O2 Priority! I think the offer is still on so all those in the UK and on an O2 contract, go grab yours!

Packaging: I can’t really judge the packaging since I don’t own the full sized product but from the pictures and reviews online it looks as beautiful as any other Benefit product. What I do like, even on the freebie, is that it has a pump so you do not waste any of the product inside.

Smell: If you do not like strong floral scents which lasts on your skin, this is not the product for you. It smells exactly like Herbal Essences conditioner which I quite like but not necessarily on my face. Once your complete outfit etc.. is complete, a splash of perfume you like will easily mask the smell.IMG_20160801_115716656_HDR

Colour: The big question for me was always going to be will this product show up on my skin? The first impression was not good. As you can see from the picture of the product on my hand, the colour looks exactly the same as my skin tone and even my foundation. Again, upon application, I felt I was just blending in foundation. However, once the product set into its soft-matte state, I began to see a darker colour form. I would use this product for a natural look but since I tend to only use bronzer/contour for special events I would layer on top of Dew the Hoola with a powder bronzer.  It is disappointing, however, that this product cannot be used on darker skin tones than mine. I wish Benefit would create more products for the variety of skin colours in the world.

Consistency:  The product which pumps out looks quite thick but when applying it on my face, the product is actually very liquid-y. I found it quite unusual but nothing which would put me off from using it again.

Overall, it is not something I would repurchase full-sized because I have better powder alternatives that also show up on my skin but with one swipe of the brush. Nevertheless, it was something interesting to try out! Have you tried Dew the Hoola? If so, let me know what you think! Til’ next time, bye! Una x
