Today I’m sharing a few of my summer favourites, and some new purchases.
Barry M’s Matte Top Coat is my new love this summer. It does a great job, and mixes up the nail varnishes that I’ve had for a while. It dries really quickly, and at £2.99, it is an absolute steal.
This combined with Sephora Collection’s ‘Hot in Here’ nail varnish is a great combination. It’s a lovely orangey red and is perfect for late summer. This also dries quickly and the brush on these things are great. I’m typically terrible at nails but this one is pretty foolproof. It also took ages to wear away!
The star of the show this month is definitely Sleek’s Solstice Highlighter Palette. You can see Freddie’s fab review (and swatches) here.
I’ve been looking for a cream highlighter for ages because I want something that is a bit more obvious (think disco ball), and my skin is so, so dry.
It was between this and the Precious Metals palette, and it was a tricky choice to make. I eventually went with Solstice because of the unusual range of colours, even though I think Precious Metals, with its range of gold shades, would have probably suited my skin tone a bit more.
The packaging is pretty, and has a firm magnetic clasp. The brush that comes with this isn’t really that great – it’s quite small, isn’t very firm at all and it just sucks in a lot of the product.
I’ll be trying this out tomorrow, so I should have my opinion on each shade for darker skin-tones very soon!
